
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 9 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in winning the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest athlete of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. Her 2012 ended with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 as well as the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
