
Melissa Crystal O'Neil was born July 12, 1988[1].] She is a Canadian actress and singer. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of Canadian Idol, the first Canadian female to win. O'Neil is most well-known as an actress because of her role in the series Syfy as Two and as Rebeccaas Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin and on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama series The Rookie. She was chosen to be among the bottom three and two of the finals. The judges were stunned by this , and they urged viewers to vote Melissa for her singing talents. O'Neil was praised for her performances and never fell back to the third place. Zack Werner declared that O'Neil was "a threat" to win the entire competition. O'Neil together with Rex Goudie, made it to the finals on September 7 in 2005. Werner, a judge famously said that the headlines for the following day's papers would be "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead. Long live the Queen." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the final results show on September 14, 2005 to be named the third Canadian Idol.
