Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is a popular American performer and actress. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) and is a nurse and Tom Bell, a television news director. Kristen is Polish (mother's) as well as German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen discovered her talents within the industry of entertainment when she was just a teenager. In 1992, she was awarded her first part in her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell received an agent who was appointed by her mother at the age of 13 and was subsequently cast as a model on television and newspaper commercials. Bell also began taking private acting classes at this time. Bell was in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998 in a role that was not credited to her. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School and was in the band and drama clubs. The Wizard of Oz was staged by her high school and she took home the part of Dorothy. Following graduation, Bell made the move into New York City to attend prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and studied musical theater. Bell graduated from the school in 2001, when she took the role of Becky in the film Tom Sawyer. Bell made her debut film credits in Pootie Tang in 2001. However, her scene it was cut and her appearance only appears in the credits at the end. Bell appeared in Broadway in The Crucible, a revival with Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
