Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly songs that dealt with racial identity and sexuality with boldly comedic perspective before increasing her presence in Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. After classical and Jazz training her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. In school, she concentrated on women's studies and journalism. She was also a student of Mandarin briefly in Beijing. Following graduation, she decided to concentrate on music. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet and was later released on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. Other viral hits included the Queef track and the eye-catching NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The latter song was linked directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in 2015. With musician and author in her portfolio, she decided to set her sights on acting in a third project. In addition to early series, such Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in the movies Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. The actress made headlines in the year 2018, with several high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
